Although I had been in several bands before, The Flood were the first to start recording and recorded only on binaural earphones, to break the ancient silence and turn irony into a musical key. I climbed up on the binaural earphone album and said I would "plug my senses in the mains." You can find it following this hyperlink...
When I was kicked out of The Flood for weird behaviour, I got a degree and a diagnosis too, and started to make music with a maestro called Grant Leonard Aspinall. The first thing we made together was the following E. P. back when we called ourselves Funnelspirals...
'THE A AND E. P.' BY FUNNELSPIRALS
Grant was also generous enough to record a mini album for me as a solo album, which can be heard by following the following hyperlink...
'SONGS TO RECORD WITH EARPHONES' [DEMO 3] BY JOHN F B TUCKER
Then came the period I started to record my back catalogue of songs on Ableton Live on my laptop. I had no idea how to work the technology and provided four albums of myself with a guitar and vocal going over a processed beat. The songs weren't really meant for that but it was good because I was providing songs for my brother's <BEE>. My brother James says <BEE> might soon ensue from @ in the International language alphabet, and came up with a four-point diagram to contain the idea.
@
<BEE> [long squiggle]
Infinity Symbol
So based on that, I provided 4 albums on Ableton Live, to correlate with my brother's <BEE> and they have amazing covers like the sheet where pictures (seemingly depicting my own song lyric) grew; and like the tape with a pause where cut and resealed in the flimsy reel. You can find the 4 albums following the following hyperlinks...
'THE NEW BEAT' BY VARIOUS ARTISTS
'SONGS IN G' BY VARIOUS ARTISTS
'THE WHITE DOOR' BY VARIOUS ARTISTS
'THE ALARM CLOCK' BY VARIOUS ARTISTS
Around about this time, I still had plenty of songs left over, and ever since the "plug my senses in the mains" episode with The Flood, had been meaning to make a solo acoustic album, so did, with a busted mic, overlaying a guitar part with a vocal, to create the following album...
'UNPLUGGED AT THE FOOT OF SEA NESS' BY JOHN F B TUCKER
Then I felt like I should do a second album by The Flood, combining electric guitars and processed beats. I contacted the rest of the band who had kicked me out and asked them if this was cool and they said it was. So I gathered together songs either from that time that didn't make it to the binaural album, or new songs about that time...
All the while I have been playing in my new band with Grant who are no longer called Funnelspirals but Black Hole Myths. We got together some of our material for his Bandcamp page which you can find here...
'ETERNAL FULL MOON' BY BLACK HOLE MYTHS
Finally, there is a further Black Hole Myths album called 'Astral Breathing' online again. The songs went on Soundcloud about 15 years ago first time round but sadistic voices got me to take them down and I obeyed them. So it was a good feeling to get some of these songs back online. This then is 'Astral Breathing' by Black Hole Myths...
'ASTRAL BREATHING' BY BLACK HOLE MYTHS
If you like the material Grant and I made together, you should know that his retrospective solo album 'Self-Portrait No 357' contains some other material we did together, like the song 'Snake Angel' and the song 'Seclusion.' He would urge me to stress that it's still his album though.
